This is the time of year that I wish I had the sewing gene because one of the highlights of LEGOLAND® California Brick-or-Treat Party Nights is the costume contest where kids can show off their creative, crafty chops.
The three categories this year are:
STAR WARS ™ at 5:30pm (*new category)
LEGO® at 6:30pm
CREATIVE at 7:30pm.
Each contest is judged by a panel of three Park employees. They rank the contestants based on a variety of criteria, including creativity and craftsmanship. Winners are announced immediately following each category.
1st prize is a LEGOLAND gift basket and four Resort Membership Passes to LEGOLAND. 2nd and 3rd place winners receive return tickets to the Park and LEGO product (you must be present to win). Everyone who participates in the costume contest will receive a collectible participation ribbon.
Some of the fun costumes I’ve seen over the years include: a homemade dragon costume that looked just like the LEGOLAND Dragon coaster, a family of siblings dressed as Vern and the Fun Town Fire Academy crew, a giant LEGO wizard, and one of the best was a fortune teller in a carnival-like booth.
If you have spent some time and energy this year on crafting and designing an imaginative, clever costume for your kiddo, be sure to head up to Castle Hill to sign up. I’ll be there, in my store bought costume, rooting you on!
