As a lover of all things theater, and as the former Entertainment Supervisor for LEGOLAND® California, I am very partial toward the live in-park entertainment. Lucky for me, and all other Park guests, beginning June 25th, the Park will boast an even broader-than-usual variety of entertainment, with a little something for the whole family.
New for the summer is The Enchanted Treasure, which runs at the Courtyard Theater in Castle Hill. This is a perfect show for the hams in the family as there are several opportunities for audience participation. Just be sure your starlets practice the high-hand raise and the phrase, “pick me, pick me!” before you go.
For your adventuresome kiddos, and any parents who are products of the 80’s like I am, be sure to check out Journey to the Lost Temple in the Playtown Theater. Musical numbers like “Walk Like an Egyptian” will provide fun flashbacks for those of you who once crimped your hair and pegged your jeans. The 80’s jokes may be lost on the kiddos, but they will still get a kick out of the Valley Girl version of Cleopatra and the chatty-Kathy mummy named Moriah. Best of all, for those hot summer days when you want some reprieve from the heat, this 25–minute musical adventure is a perfect place to relax and cool down. Be sure to get there early so you score a good seat---there will be pre-show entertainment from the goofy janitor to keep those restless kids occupied.
Throughout the summer and throughout the Park, guests will also be entertained by roving performers via the flashy BrickMobile which will feature a variety of acts including a mad scientist, a crafty magician and a talented trio of singer/dancers called The Brickettes who will get your bodies groovin’ to such party favorites as Party in the USA and Get this Party Started.
And of course I can’t forget my favorite zany firefighters who will continue to find funny ways to foul things up in The Big Test over in Fun Town. This show is a must see for any newcomers to the Park. You’ll laugh, you’ll dance, and you might even get wet! Be sure to grab a show guide when you enter through the turnstiles for accurate show information.
